Slime Care Guide
Your slime is happiest when it’s pampered! A little care goes a long way in keeping it stretchy, soft, and oh-so-satisfying. Treat your slime gently, play with clean hands, and tuck it back into its cozy container when you’re done. With the right care, your slime will stay fresh, fluffy, and ready for stress-melting fun whenever you need a squish break.
General Slime Care
Clean Hands: Clean, washed hands and a clean, flat surface work best when using slime.
Store Airtight: Keep slime closed and sealed in a container when not in use to help it last longer.
Keep Cool: Avoid excessive heat and direct sunlight to prevent the slime from melting.
Fix Sticky Slime
Make activator: 1tsp borax powder + 1cup water. Add a few drops. Store your mixture in a small spray bottle and use as needed. You can also purchase our Activator Spray.
Slime is handmade and meant to be enjoyed, not kept forever. Over time, even with great care, slime will naturally change. This is totally normal! Knowing the signs of an “expired” slime helps keep play safe and fun.
Signs your slime has gone past its prime:
- Smell: A sour, musty, or unpleasant odor (especially if it wasn’t scented that way originally)
- Texture: Extremely sticky, slimy, or watery even after attempts to fix it
- Consistency: Separation that won’t remix, or slime that has broken down into a glue-like liquid
- Color: Unusual discoloration, cloudiness, or dark spots
- Surface changes: Visible mold, fuzz, or speckles (this means it’s time to discard immediately)
If your slime shows any signs of spoilage or mold, it’s best to safely dispose of it. When in doubt, trust your senses — slime should look good, feel good, and smell good!
Fix Stiff Slime
Add a small amount of lotion or glycerin and knead to your desired consistency. You can also purchase our Hydrating Mist.
